Don’t Underestimate This Weapon in 2023

MN Vikings Central | Heaven For Minnesota Vikings Fans

The Vikings offense looks a little bit different this time around heading into training camp compared to the 2022 offseason. The Vikings have released a few former beloved Vikings, such as Adam Thielen and just recently running back Dalvin Cook. Minnesota also has a much better TE this season than at the beginning of last season, with the addition of TJ Hockenson. The purple and gold will still have Kirk Cousins behind center and superstar WR Justin Jefferson torching defenses. But who can step up in the backfield come the 2023 season? Will Alexander Mattison take the next step with more snaps? Will 7th round rookie DeWayne McBride make an instant impact? In my opinion, its the other guy in the backfield that no ones really talking about.

RB Ty Chandler in the tunnel during pre game.

Second year running back Ty Chandler has always been a little overlooked. Chandler started his career at Tennessee and finished it at North Carolina where he was one of the best running backs in the nation under head coach Mack Brown. He had five games with multiple touchdowns, a 198 yard performance vs Virginia, and also dominated Wake Forest, bursting his way to 213 yards and four touchdowns. Chandler was a man among boys for the most part at the collegiate level, and it’ll be very interesting to see him get a chance at the NFL level.

Chandler during OTAs

Vikings head coach has been singing his praises towards Chandler during OTAs, mentioning multiple times how good he has looked on the field this offseason. With Dalvin Cook out of picture, Chandler will have every opportunity to make his presence on the field. With 4.38 speed and elite balance, and vision. Chandler will surprise some people come the 2023 season.
